How To Fix Wireless Module Not Found (701)

It is a 3 step process to drain power from your notebook:

1. Disconnect AC adapter. Remove the battery.
2. Press and hold the power button for few second. (15 secs would be more than enough).
3. Restart your notebook.

If the problem persist try the following:
1. Re-install your wireless drivers.
2. Clean your wireless card (similar process to clean RAM)
-open the back of the computer and take out the wireless card.
-Clean the gold part(discharge) using eraser.

Other options:
It could be expansive to replace the wireless card if turn out the card is faulty. So you can get a USB wireless stick which cost about $6.00 .

Dell Inspiron 5520 (15R) Windows 10 Drivers

Dell stated that they did not test this machine for Windows 10 and you will not be able to get the right drivers form Dell website. Actually the drivers is available on dell website but they did not test it for 5520, and the compatible driver is available and listed for other model. Furthermore, there are lots of users tested Windows 10 on this notebook and here is the driver that worked:

Chipset:
Intel HM77 Chipset Driver (direct from dell)
Download  (32/64-bit)

Audio:
(The original Windows 8.1 drivers form dell website).
Conexant CX20672-21Z Driver : Download(32/64-bit)
(filename: Audio_Driver_Y1116_WN_8.54.40.0_A00.EXE )

If failed:
1. This driver package contain the drivers for Windows 7,8 and 8.1. Sometimes it installs the wrong drivers.
2. So first download and install uniextract software.
3. Extract the driver we've downloaded earlier, and we will have all the folders : win7 x86, win7 x64m win8 x86 and win8.1 x64.

For windows 10 64-bit, open win8.1 x64 folder and run setup64.exe
For Windows 10 32-bit open win8.1 x86 folder and run setup.exe

You can also get the latest drivers form Intel download center website.

Adaptec SCSI drivers for Windows 7 and Windows 8

Download this drivers (compatible with 32-bit and 64-bit). Download
Extract the driver file, we will need it later.

1. Open device manager. (guide to open device manager with pictures here).
2. Right click on SCSI Controller and select update driver. (The SCSI is listed under other devices and should be visible once you open device manager).

3. Click Browse and point to the driver folder we extracted earlier.

(During installation, a warning will pop-up, ignore it and continue anyway).

4. Continue installation until finish.

If the driver above does not work, use this MOD driver which support most of the adaptec SCSI adapter:

Install using the same method above.
Note : If you have the VISTA drivers, it worth to try and install it in compatibility mode for windows Vista.

Recovering drivers from old Windows (previous Windows Installation)

After installing a new windows, you will have a Windows.old folder inside C drive and it does have all the drivers you need for your new operating system. Windows.old folder only available to new installation without formatting the old windows partition.

1. Open device manager (Click start - on the search box type devmgmt.msc and press enter).
2. Right click on any devices you need to install and select update driver.
3. click browse my computer for driver software.
4. Click browse button and poit to C:\windows.old.

If there are few drivers still missing and cannot be found repeat STEP 1 to 3.

On step 4 try with the following location:

c:\Windows.old\Windows\inf


C:\Windows.old\Windows\System32\drivers

C:\Windows.old\Windows\System32\driverstore
